BETCRIS E sports Overwatch League 2018

At the beginning of the season, we expected the three Korean teams to dominate. They have not disappointed in that regard. The Seoul Dynasty, London Spitfire, and New York Excelsior all fielded exclusively Korean teams. Their decision has been rewarded as all three teams have started 4-0, while the next best team in the Overwatch League is 2-2.

Those three will likely be duking it out for the top spot all season, but there will be a lot of intrigue over the best Western team in the league too. Houston, Philadelphia, and the two LA teams look to be the early frontrunners in that regard, but Boston, Dallas, and San Francisco might have something to say about that.

Overwatch League Stage One Week Three Betting Odds

Los Angeles Valiant -500

Los Angeles Gladiators +333

The Battle for Los Angeles was fought once in preseason, with the Valiant knocking off the Gladiators 3-1. The Gladiators have been playing better since that point though. This team only has seven players so the roster composition doesn’t change much, but it doesn’t need to with some of this talent.

Surefour is the team’s star DPS, while Asher and Hydration have been fantastic in situational roles. They get a lot of the publicity, but the support play of Shaz and BigGoose has been just as important.

Shaz and BigGoose have a lot of synergy. They are both Finns and were the backline for the Finnish World Cup team last year. This duo plays well off of each other and that gives the Gladiators a fighting chance in this one.

Houston Outlaws -600

Florida Mayhem +350

Of all the teams currently stuck at 2-2, Houston looked the best last week. The Outlaws hammered both Shanghai and Dallas 4-0, and while the sweep over Shanghai was not a surprise, the win over Dallas was. Houston was a +200 underdog in that game, but dominated its in-state rival.

The Outlaws’ DPS duo of Jake and Linkzr looked incredible last week. They seemed to solve the chemistry problems that plagued them in the first week and played off of each other very well throughout the game. That is key for this team to succeed. Additionally, Muma had a great performance as the team’s main tank and should be fired up this week.

Florida has some fun and wacky intros, but this team needs to add new players. Cwoosh has just not gotten it done in any role and the support play has been lackluster. The Mayhem are the second-worst team in the league, and the Outlaws will be able to roll here.

Seoul Dynasty -188

New York Excelsior +133

This is the most highly anticipated matchup to date this season.

You can argue that Seoul has the three best players in the league. Fleta, tobi, and ryujehong have been phenomenal this year, with outplays time and time again. Each player has produced a cornucopia of highlights and it’s hard to imagine anyone topping them.

New York is one of the few teams with the talent to. Saebyeolbe and Libero are both very talented players, and MekO and Mano might be the best tank duo in the league. JJoNak is going to have his hands full with this opposing lineup though.

Don’t be surprised to see New York mix things up. The Excelsior have the most popular sub in the league in Pine, and he can take over a game on McCree. He typically only plays on the third map, but you might see a lot more of him here.

Dallas Fuel -175

Boston Uprising +125

It’s not often that you see an 0-4 team as a favorite, but that’s where we are with the Fuel. Dallas is in this unenviable situation because of some very questionable support play. HarryHook and chipshajen have inexplicably died too many times on the back line, and that’s a problem in a meta that relies on support play. This was supposed to be the best Western team coming into the year, but that has failed to materialize.

I would love to take Boston to pull off the upset, but the Uprising have to prove that they can vary their strategies. Their positioning is the same all too often, and good teams key in on that.
