NFL Football Cardinals vs Cowboys

The NFL Arizona Cardinals have yet to face an opposing starting quarterback this preseason and that trend will continue in Week 3. Dallas Cowboys starter Dak Prescott is not expected to play in this game, which is usually the dress rehearsal matchup for the regular season. Star running back Ezekiel Elliott will also not play,

as the Dallas has some offensive line injuries and may not want to subject their stars to unneeded hits. The Cardinals are 2-0 in the preseason and have covered the spread in both games. They will aim to do it again on “Sunday Night Football” in Dallas. Arizona has low expectations when the season begins but the starting offense has been better than expected thus far in the exhibition matchups.

Arizona seems to be taking this game more seriously under first-year coach Steve Wilks, which could result in another win in NFL gambling.

Odds Analysis

The Cardinals are listed as 1-point favorites in this matchup despite the road location because of Dallas’ missing stars. The early action is on them to cover as 73 percent of the money has headed toward the Cardinals. The scoring total is listed at 40.5 points, with the “under” the more popular selection.

Football Sports Betting

The Cowboys are the +105 underdogs on the moneyline. The Cardinals as the -125 favorite are again getting more than 70 percent of the action to win straight up in NFL betting lines.

Quarterback Watch

Prescott it not expected to play and Cardinals rookie quarterback Josh Rosen is a question mark. Rosen hit his hand on a helmet in Monday’s practice and didn’t practice on Wednesday. He went 10-of-16 for 107 yards and a touchdown last week against the Saints and wants to build on that performance with another good one. Keep an eye on Rosen’s progress throughout the week.

Cardinals starter Sam Bradford has yet to throw an incompletion in seven preseason passing attempts, looking comfortable in a new offense after joining the team in free agency. Bradford has an extensive injury history and there is concern about his ability to remain on the field, but when he is on it Bradford is a solid quarterback.

Injury Update

Cowboys Pro Bowl center Travis Frederick is out indefinitely with a rare disease called Guillain Barre Syndrome. Is it an ailment that affects the autoimmune system and could keep him out into the regular season.

He won’t play in this game, which sets back the Cowboys’ offensive line. When healthy, the group is one of the best in the NFL. Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin is also not expected to play in this game with a knee injury. The Cowboys’ running game is dominant when everything is rolling but the absence of so many stars makes it unlikely Dallas gashes the Cardinals up front.

Free NFL ATS Picks

Keep a close eye on Rosen’s status. If he is a go, the Cardinals will have the two best quarterbacks in the game, which will mitigate the Cowboys’ home field advantage. Take Arizona to win this game and cover the spread once again in NFL odds.

NFL ATS Pick: Arizona Cardinals 23, Dallas Cowboys 16
