It’s Monday night, and Major League Baseball action remains at its peak now that the mid-season stage is well on its way. The Yankees will attempt to remain as the top seed in the league against the Mariners. On the other hand, the Astros are still not letting go of their chances to top the Yankees and will face the Red Sox. Finally, with just one win away from catching with New York, the Dodgers are ready to continue dominating the Giants.
Yankees To Extend Lead Against Mariners
The New York Yankees are still the top team in the current 2022 MLB season. However, they stand at the very top but by much. The Yankees are now 69-34 and currently leading the AL East and the entire league.
Still, the Yankees are only one win ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, it’s a matter of staying at the very top by summing more wins. On the other hand, the Seattle Mariners are pursuing the Houston Astros with a 55-48 season record and second overall in the AL West.
The Mariners still have time to strike the Yankees. Yet, it all points to the Yankees and their urgent need to keep adding positive digits to their season record. The Yankees should be able to pull a solid win at NYC today.
Astros’ Search for Lead Spot Against the Red Sox
The Houston Astros are the third team in the fight for the top position in the league. The Astros are now leading the AL West division with a 67-36 record. That places them just three wins away from matching the Yankees.
On the other hand, the Red Sox are quite on the blur and gradually turning darker. For the Red Sox, it’s now time to pull in their weight and surpass the Baltimore Orioles to leave the last spot of the AL East division behind.
It seems as if Boston’s 51-52 season might prove insufficient to face a top seed tonight. It seems as if Houston is ready to keep building pressure on the Dodgers and the Yankees for the top seed position.
Dodgers To Dominate Giants Yet Again
The Los Angeles Dodgers are now the second-best seed in the season. With just one win away from catching up with the Yankees, the Dodgers are still doing everything they can to add more positive digits on their end.
As of today, LA is now leading the NL West with a 68-33 season record. With just games away from becoming the best team in the league, the Dodgers are not ready to let a team that they have already dominated exceed them that easily.
As for San Francisco, the third spot in the NL West and an even 51-51 season record will need to prove sufficient to face the Dodgers tonight. Still, it seems that LA is not ready to let go of their desire to dominate the league and should walk away victorious at Oracle Park.
