  • Betcris.com At the onset of the 2019-20 season, the Michigan State Spartans were understandable favorites with the College basketball odds. Michigan State was coming off a Final Four appearance in last year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Just as important, 2019 Big Ten Player of the Year Cassius Winston decided to forego the NBA Draft to play his senior season at MSU.   More

  • Betcris.com For head coach Roy Williams and North Carolina, this NCAA college basketball season has been a debacle. Consider that UNC is near the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. As a perennial ACC and Final Four contender that rates as a shock. Of great concern is how bad the Tar Heels have been as a Betting on CBB value. Counter to that is a Duke team living up to its standards as a marquee blue blood national brand.   More

  • Betcris.com It was not all that long ago when the thought of the Auburn Tigers competing with the Kentucky Wildcats for national prominence and SEC supremacy would have been grounds for a straight jacket. But Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl has changed all of that. In fact, the gambling public has come to respect War Eagle so much that it has been a problem as far as their value with the college basketball lines. While Auburn is college basketball “nouveau riche” Kentucky is the ultimate classic blue blood program. The two will clash on ESPN in a high-profile Saturday night showdown!   More

  • Betcris.com This is a make or break season for Archie Miller. Miller was hired to return the Indiana Hoosiers to glory, but instead the once-proud program continues to be mired in mediocrity. Indiana went 35-31 during his first two seasons, so he knows he must take the Hoosiers back to the NCAA Tournament this season. The Hoosiers currently stand a good chance of hearing their name called on Selection Sunday with a 14-4 record, but a win over the 15-4 Maryland Terrapins would certainly bolster their chances. Indiana is expected to be a small favorite at home per the college basketball betting odds on Sunday afternoon.   More

  • Betcris.com In a Big 12 college basketball matchup between the Baylor Bears and Kansas Jayhawks Bill Self will be the center of attention on the sidelines. The Kansas Jayhawks head coach has posted three Final Fours and one national championship during his time at Lawrence. Additionally, he has led the Jayhawks to a whopping 14 Big 12 Conference championships. Kansas is a marquee blue blood traditional power program where such production is considered to be a birthright. By contrast Baylor head coach Scott Drew operates in relative anonymity. Yet since taking over the Baylor program in 2007-08 Drew has led the Bears to eight March Madness bids with two Elite Eights and two Sweet Sixteen runs in that span. Baylor and Kansas are two of the best teams in the Big 12 and have a Saturday Showdown at historic Allen Fieldhouse.   More

  • Betcris.com At the onset of the college basketball season the Michigan State Spartans were a top tier favorite to win the national championship. And why not? With the return of Cassius Winston for his senior season the sky seemed to be the limit. But the tragic death of Winston’s brother has cast a shadow over last year’s Big Ten Most Valuable Player award winner. It has been an emotionally tough holiday season for the entire MSU program. By contrast the Michigan Wolverines were a great mystery with the College Basketball odds. New head coach Juwan Howard has been the perfect fit, at least so far, as the replacement for John Beilein. Fortunately for Howard, Beilein left a full cupboard behind.   More

  • Betcris.com The Seton Hall Pirates get a chance at the spotlight on Thursday night, as they host the Michigan State Spartans on FS1. The Pirates began the season ranked in the Top 15 in the country, while the Spartans began the season ranked No. 1. The Pirates have not had any real competition as they have easily defeated Wagner and Stony Brook, while the Spartans have already played and lost to Kentucky. Let’s look at Michigan State vs. Seton Hall and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com They say defense wins championships and that is definitely the case when the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Virginia Cavaliers square off in the national title game on Monday night. The explosion of offense in the game of basketball has led to plenty of excitement, but two of the best defensive clubs in the country will match wits in this one. Nobody has been able to figure out Tech’s scheme in the NCAA Tournament and UVA allows the fewest points per game of any team in the country, bringing in a low total on the college basketball betting lines.   More

  • Betcris.com After taking down the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in the Elite Eight, the Michigan State Spartans have to be feeling good about their chances with only the Texas Tech Red Raiders standing between them and a chance at the National Championship. This is the first Final Four appearance for Tech, but they didn’t get here by accident. The Red Raiders tossed a blanket over some really good offensive clubs this season en route to an impressive 30-6 record and share of the Big 12 regular season title.   More

  • Betcris.com Winning the National Championship is just what the Virginia Cavaliers need to put that memorable first round loss to UMBC last year behind them. The Cavs used that defeat as motivation to cruise through the regular season, beating every team not named Duke. They ran into problems in the ACC tournament, losing a semifinal game and the questions arose. There were some anxious moments in the first round when the Cavs fell behind 16-seed Gardner-Webb, but adjustments were made and the Cavs are a win over the Auburn Tigers away from playing for the trophy.   More

Sweet Sixteen preview and best bets

    By Phil Simon

Betcris.com On to the Sweet 16! That’s what the top three seeds in each region said after advancing past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. There were no major upsets in the first two rounds with No. 12 Oregon the worst-seeded team to reach the regional semifinals. Duke, the No. 1 overall seed, escaped the upset bid of Central Florida and advanced to face ACC rival Virginia Tech in one of four Friday games. The Dookies and Virginia Cavaliers both opened as the biggest favorites in the Sweet 16 giving 7.5-points to their opponent. Five teams from the ACC are still alive, though at least one will go home. And there’s still a chance we could have an all-ACC Final Four.   More

  • Betcris.com A win is a win if it’s by one point or 100. That’s what the Duke Blue Devils will say after the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament escaped a near upset and advanced to the Sweet 16. We had a close call for one of the top seeds, but that was all we had over the first weekend. In fact the script played out almost according to plan as the No. 1s, 2s and 3s all reached the regional semifinals. And that means the top four teams on the odds board to win the 2019 NCAA men’s basketball national championship haven’t changed.   More

  • Betcris.com The field is set and it’s time to fill out your NCAA Basketball bracket as the most glorious three weeks in sports is about to begin. The field will be cut in half over the first two days as teams make their way to the ultimate destination – Minneapolis in three weeks. The journey starts here, however, and for some highly regarded teams it will end in disappointment. That’s just the way it is. You can ask Tony Bennett and his Virginia Cavaliers, who last year became the first No. 1 seed in tournament history to lose to a No. 16 seed.   More

    College Basketball Futures Odds

    By Phil Simon

Betcris.com The 68-team field for the 2019 NCAA basketball tournament has been announced, and the odds for teams to cut down the nets in Minneapolis in April have been released. And to no one’s surprise the Duke Blue Devils are at the top of the list with odds of +175. The Dookies were the favorite even when there were concerns about the health of Zion Williamson. Those were answered in the ACC tournament and Duke appears poised to make the only year for the heralded freshman class a memorable one.   More

  • Betcris.com It’s a near lock that the Kentucky Wildcats make it to the SEC Tournament championship game. And it’s another good bet that they win it. The Wildcats have played for a chance to cut down the nets in eight of the last nine seasons, winning it in the last four and 31 times overall. That’s five more tournament titles than the other 13 conference teams combined. The SEC is as strong as it’s ever been, though, making the Cats’ path to another title a little more difficult.   More

    ACC Tournament Schedule and Picks

    By Tom Wilkinson

Betcris.com Three of the best teams in the country will be featured in the ACC Tournament, as the North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Cavaliers battle for the title. Virginia and North Carolina tied for the regular season title and they are the top two seeds, while Duke is the third seed. The Blue Devils could be the team to beat though, as Zion Williamson is expected to return for Duke. Let’s look at the ACC Tournament and picks.   More

  • Betcris.com On February 20 the North Carolina Tar Heels scored an 88-72 upset win at the Duke Blue Devils as 10-point underdogs. It was another case of one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports not really having a true favorite in the NCAA Basketball matchup. But overshadowing all was the knee injury to Duke’s Zion Williamson. The star forward blew out a pair of new Nike shoes and his knee and has been out of the lineup ever since. Williamson remains doubtful for any more action, at least in the immediate future. But as was proven last month you can throw out the records and intangibles when these two teams meet!   More

    NCAA College Basketball Best Bets

    By Tom Wilkinson

Betcris.com The final week of the NCAA college basketball regular season features a number of key conference games, including those in the Big 10 and the American Athletic. The Iowa Hawkeyes visit the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday in Big 10 action on ESPN, while there are two key games in the American Athletic on Thursday, as Cincinnati visits Central Florida on ESPN 2, while SMU plays at Houston on ESPN. Let’s look at those three games and Thursday’s best bets.   More

  • Betcris.com It is a matchup of Top 10 NCAA College Basketball teams on Saturday afternoon, as the No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats visit the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers in a game that can be seen on CBS. These teams met just a couple of weeks ago and it was Kentucky winning 86-69 at home. If the Volunteers are going to win the SEC, then this is pretty much a must-win game. Let’s look at Saturday’s game and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com The top two teams in the Big East meet on Wednesday night in a game that can be seen on FS1. Both Marquette and Villanova will be in next month’s NCAA Tournament, but it could be that Marquette will be the team to watch and not the defending national champs. Marquette beat Villanova earlier this season and with a win on Wednesday they could pretty much wrap up the regular season Big East title. Let’s look at Wednesday’s game and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com The most anticipated game in the NCAA Big Ten so far this season takes place on Sunday afternoon, as the Michigan State Spartans visit the Michigan Wolverines on CBS. Both teams are battling with Purdue for the top spot in the conference, so this is a huge game. Surprisingly, it is the first meeting of the season between the Spartans and Wolverines and it won’t be the last one, as they meet again in two weeks in Lansing and they could meet again in the Big Ten Tournament. Let’s look at Sunday’s game and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com The best rivalry in NCAA college basketball gets another chapter on Wednesday night, as the North Carolina Tar Heels visit the Duke Blue Devils. Not only are these two of the top teams in the ACC, they are also two of the top teams in the country, as both are ranked in the Top 10. Even though it is nearly March, these teams have not yet played this season. They will meet again in the regular season finale in Chapel Hill on March 9. Let’s look at Wednesday’s game and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com The most anticipated game of the NCAA basketball in the SEC so far this season takes place on Saturday, as the top-ranked Tennessee Volunteers visit the fifth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats. The Volunteers lead the SEC, while the Wildcats are in third place. Kentucky was in second place, but they suffered a last second loss to LSU on Tuesday. Despite the fact that the Volunteers are ranked No. 1 in the country, they are going to be road underdogs at Kentucky. Let’s look at Saturday’s game and college basketball picks.   More

  • Betcris.com If there is one game that you want to watch before March Madness it is probably Saturday night’s contest between the Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Cavaliers on ESPN. You can already make a strong case for both teams reaching this year’s Final Four and Saturday’s game could decide the regular   More
