It took two overtimes, but Spain was able to hold off Australia and advance to the finals of the FIBA World Cup. The United States looked vulnerable throughout the FIBA World Cup and went down in the quarterfinals to France. Their exit has opened up the tournament as every remaining team should feel like it has a chance to win now. The tournament is a qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympics, which will take the top two teams from Europe and the Americas, as well as the top team from Asia, Africa, and Oceania. More
