Kobe Bryant’s tragic death is still on the minds of a mourning NBA. Players continue to discuss Bryant’s impact on the Association and their own personal lives and careers. The 18-time NBA All-Star will get plenty of well-deserved recognition this weekend at the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend from Chicago.
This will be the third time in history that the Windy City hosts the All-Star Game and the first time ever that will be held at United Center, “The House That Michael Built.” Indeed, Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan ushered in a dominant era at the venue on venerable old Madison Street.

2020 NBA All-Star Game Overview: All-Star LeBron vs. All-Star Giannis
For 2020 the NBA will once again tweak the format. In Sunday’s All-Star Game the first three quarters will be treated and scored as three separate games. Winners will assign money to their favorite charity causes. Additionally, there will be a cumulative score will be posted after those first three quarters. And in memory of the late great Kobe Bryant, there will be a target score of 24. While the new format will have gamblers busy figuring things out a lot of offense is expected for the NBA odds.
NBA All-Star Weekend
Keep in mind that the All Start Game is the final event of a great NBA weekend. Friday opens the three days of appointment viewing with the Rising Stars challenge that features the best first and second-year stars of the Association. Included among them will be New Orleans Pelicans rookie sensation, Zion Williamson.
Saturday offers the Skills Challenge along with the Three-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest. Last year Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets won the Three-Point Contest and will defend his title against such stars as Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks.
In the Slam Dunk Contest, four new starters will be in the field with defending champion Hamidou Diallo not participating. Pat Connaughton of the Milwaukee Bucks, Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard of the Los Angeles Lakers and Derrick Jones Jr of the Miami Heat are the field. Howard was the winner in 2008.
TNT will televise both nights of action.
