The Golden State Warriors were hit by malaise and injuries during the regular season, which is how they finished as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference behind the Houston Rockets. They are hoping the lack of home court advantage doesn’t come back to bite them now that the teams are meeting in the Western Conference Finals.
The best way for the Warriors to erase the Rockets’ home court advantage is by winning Game 1 in Houston. The odds have made this one close to a toss-up and it should be the first battle in what is shaping up to be a fantastic series.
The Rockets and Warriors are clearly the two best teams in the NBA and it will fun to see how this series develops in NBA basketball gambling.

We'll have NBA odds at Betcris available for every game of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.
The Rockets are 1.5-point favorites to capture Game 1, and not surprisingly, the majority of the action is on the Warriors to cover. Golden State is currently getting about 65 percent of the action.
The scoring total is listed at 224 points as the oddsmakers expect an up-and-down affair between the two most high-powered offenses in the NBA. Despite the high total, the “over” is still getting more than 73 percent of the action.
The Rockets are the slight -125 favorites on the moneyline, while the Warriors are listed as the +105 underdogs. It’s not often Golden State finds itself in this position, and the bettors are taking advantage as more than 87 percent of the action is on the Warriors to pull the upset.
Player To Watch
James Harden -- The Warriors may boast the top trio in the NBA in Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, but most believe Harden will be the one who walks away with the MVP trophy this year. He had a fantastic regular season and has been just as good in the playoffs.
Harden has averaged 28.5 points, 7.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game in the postseason. He is shooting only 40.7 percent from the field but is getting to the free throw line at a prolific rate and is hitting 89 percent of those shots from the charity stripe.
Harden must shoot well from the field in this one because the margin for error is slim against a great Warriors team.
3. That’s the number of NBA Finals the Warriors have made in a row, and they have won two championships in that time. Golden State is the favorite to once again win this series and advance to the finals, but it’s not a given.
The Rockets had elite regular season numbers and cruised in each of their first two series. This matchup is really intriguing and should help prove if the dominant Warriors will have a true rival on their hands over the next few seasons.

Game 1 should be a lot of fun as these teams feel each other out. Houston has the home court advantage and there is no doubt the crowd is going to be going wild. Look for the Rockets to feed off that and come away with a big win, which will set up a classic back-and-forth series between these two powers.
Golden State may eventually win this series but the Rockets are the choice to both capture Game 1 and cover the spread in NBA basketball betting.
NBA ATS Pick: Rockets 117, Warriors 114
