The Golden State Warriors have long been the overwhelming favorites in the Pacific Division, but that is no longer the case. The Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers both beefed up their rosters this offseason while Golden State lost some talent, shaking up the order of favorites heading into the 2019-20 NBA regular season. The Clippers have been pegged as the odds-on favorites to capture the division, but all three have goals even bigger than the Pacific. These are three of the top contenders to win the NBA title and it should be fascinating to watch them square off regularly throughout the season.

Pacific Division Odds Analysis
The Clippers are the team to beat not only in the Pacific but in the entire NBA, according to the oddsmakers. They had a game-changing offseason, signing superstar forward Kawhi Leonard in free agency and then trading for Paul George to give him another mega talent to play alongside. The Clippers return players like Patrick Beverly and Lou Williams, which is why they stand out a bit more than some of the others in the Pacific, which are more top-heavy. The Clippers have to jell quickly with so many new pieces but expectations are through the roof.
The Lakers are not far behind. Their first season with LeBron James did not go anywhere near as planned, as he got hurt and the team eventually fell out of the playoff picture. However, a blockbuster trade for superstar center Anthony Davis has reinvigorated the team, and the pairing of Davis and James is among the best in the league. Kyle Kuzma will be the third option but Los Angeles must prove that there is enough depth to consistently win games and keep up with the Clippers.
The Warriors lost in the NBA FInals a year ago and many believe their dynasty is finally coming to an end. Kevin Durant left for the Nets in free agency while Klay Thompson is expected to miss some or all of the season after suffering a torn ACL in the finals. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are healthy, and they will aim to keep this team afloat, while D’Angelo Russell was added to help add some scoring punch. It is going to be an interesting season for Golden State, which for the first time in a long time is not the favorite to win the title or even the Pacific Division.
This should be a three-team race. The Sacramento Kings almost made the playoffs last year and seem to be trending in the right direction, but don’t have the top-tier players to stick with the Clippers, Lakers and Warriors. The Phoenix Suns have even less of a prayer as they remain in a perpetual state of rebuild. Phoenix hopes to grow behind Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton but there are expected to be more bumps in the road in 2019-20.
This is a tough division to forecast because of all the movement this offseason and all the superstars that are now in the Pacific. The Clippers should be good, but the Lakers are going to be really motivated in 2019-20. LeBron James is going to be 35 soon and he knows this could be one of the best shots to add another championship to his resume. Look for the Lakers to keep their foot on the gas all season long and win the Pacific Division at +207 odds.
