The Grey Cup is here. After a long grind the two teams left standing are the Ottawa Redblacks and the Calgary Stampeders. Calgary was the best team throughout the season and will be the favorite to come away with the championship.
It feels like the team that crosses over to the opposite conference never fares well in the CFL Playoffs. The BC Lions were optimistic about their chances against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week, but instead Jeremiah Masoli picked them apart in a 48-8 rout. The Tiger-Cats went just 8-10 in the regular season, yet they rose up when it mattered the most.
The CFL conference semifinals are here, as the teams alive for the Grey Cup will be whittled down to four after this weekend. The most intriguing matchup this week features the B.C. Lions against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Calgary Stampeders have blown a pair of chances to clinch the Canadian Football League’s West Division, and one more loss could possibly drop them to second place in the division. Calgary has played like the best team in the CFL for much of the season but needs a win or a tie in the finale against the B.C. Lions to clinch first place.
