The CFL conference semifinals are here, as the teams alive for the Grey Cup will be whittled down to four after this weekend. The most intriguing matchup this week features the B.C. Lions against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Lions finished with the better record in the regular season at 9-9, but they will be the slight underdogs in this matchup as Hamilton has the benefit of the home field advantage. The Ti-Cats have been up and down on the year but are aiming to put together a solid game and advance to the Eastern Finals for a matchup against the Ottawa Redblacks.
B.C. certainly shouldn’t be counted out as the oddsmakers expect a very competitive game in CFL wagering.

This CFL football game between the B.C. Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be held at Tim Hortons Field in, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at 1 p.m ET on Sunday, November 11th, 2018.
The Ti-Cats are listed as the tiny 2-point favorites in this matchup. The home team generally gets three points for the location so the oddsmakers have deemed B.C. the slightly more talented team. The scoring total is listed at 52.5 points. This one could be close from start to finish as these teams seem to match up well in CFL odds.
Hamilton and B.C. met two times in the regular season, splitting their matchups. Both teams were able to take care of business on their home field.
B.C. and Hamilton met for the first time in Week 15. It was a close one as the Lions squeaked out a 35-32 overtime victory in jaw-dropping fashion. The Lions scored a 20-yard touchdown as time expired, as Bryan Burnham hauled in a pass from Jonathan Jennings. B.C. converted the two-point conversion to tie the game and then won on a kick in the second overtime session.
Hamilton exacted its revenge in a big way the very next week. The Tiger-Cats jumped out to a 27-point lead at the half and cruised to a 40-10 win. Hamilton quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was impressive, finishing the night 18-of-26 for 189 yards and three touchdowns. John White had a big game on the ground, carrying the ball 15 times for 108 yards, a 7.2 yards-per carry average.

57. That’s Hamilton’s positive scoring differential on the season, despite a losing record in the regular season. The Lions may have the better record but they finished the year with a negative-50 point-differential.
In many respects point differential is a better predictor of future success than win-loss records. In a game with a small spread, it is certainly something to consider when choosing the winner of this matchup. The Ti-Cats may have been inconsistent during the season but they showed the ability to blow out opponents at times, which is a big key.

The B.C. Lions have a decent team but this is an easy call. Hamilton is better than its record would suggest and Masoli has put together a very good season. The Ti-Cats lost star receiver Brandon Banks a few weeks ago but Hamilton should be able to overcome that and come away with the win.
The Lions will keep this one closer than the last time they were on the road against Hamilton, but the Ti-Cats are definitely the pick to win this game and cover the spread. Look for Hamilton to punch its ticket to the East Finals with the victory in CFL betting. The “over” will be the choice on the scoring total.
CFL ATS Pick: Hamilton Ti-Cats 30, B.C. Lions 27
