The Calgary Stampeders have been the most dominant team in the CFL in 2018, jumping out to an 8-1 record through nine games. Their closest competition is the Edmonton Eskimos in the West Division, but Calgary can make it extremely tough for anyone to catch them with a victory when these teams face off in the CFL Game of the Week.

The Stampeders have the best record in the CFL and get this game at home, so they will be the clear favorites. Edmonton has put up some big offensive numbers on the season but is facing off against an elite defense so it should be an interesting showdown.
The Eskimos need to pull off this upset to add some drama to the West. It would also be a boon for their playoff chances as Edmonton is in the middle of a large group of teams fighting for a spot in CFL gambling.
This CFL football game between the Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders will be held at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at 3 p.m ET on Monday, September 3rd, 2018.
The Stampeders will enter as the 7.5-point favorites in this matchup. Even though they have the superior record and get this one at home, the betting public thinks this line is too high, as Edmonton is picking up 80 percent of the action to cover. The half-point could be the reason why as a seven-point spread would result in a cover. The scoring total is listed at 52.5 points and it will be interesting to see where the wagers come in on that number in CFL betting.
152. That’s the number of points Calgary has allowed in nine games this season, the only team in the CFL that hasn’t surpassed 200 points allowed on the season. The Stampeders were dominant early on, only allowing 46 points combined in their first five games, but have been figured out more recently.
Calgary hopes that this is just a blip and that it will get back to holding teams in check. The Saskatchewan Roughriders put up 40 points on the Stampeders in their only loss of the season and Edmonton will no doubt be watching that tape to figure out a good way to follow that path.
If Calgary doesn’t get back to its dominant defensive ways, its hold on the title of best team in the CFL could be in doubt.

Player To Watch
Mike Reilly -- The Eskimos have a star quarterback in Mike Reilly, who currently leads the CFL in passing yards with 3,296. Reilly is completing 67 percent of his passes and has thrown 22 touchdowns against only nine interceptions.
Only one other CFL quarterback has more than 10 touchdown passes on the season and Reilly leads the league, which puts in context just how dangerous he has been. This is going to be a fascinating matchup, with the impressive Stampeders defense going against a guy who has picked teams apart with his arm this year.
If Calgary can’t keep Reilly in check it could be ripe for the upset.

The Stampeders are not playing as well as they did early in the season. They have a nice balance of a good offense and a good defense, but facing off against a star quarterback can often be trouble. Look for Reilly to solve the Stampeders defense and not only help his team cover the spread but also pull off the upset.
This win for Edmonton should pay off nicely in CFL gambling. Take the “over” as both sides should see their fair share of points on the scoreboard.
CFL ATS Pick: Edmonton Eskimos 32, Calgary Stampeders 28
