Houston Cougars at Tulane Green Wave -3.5, Thursday, September 19, 2019, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN
Houston enters this game at 1-2 straight up but 2-1 with the spread and with a solid passing attack. Tulane is better suited as an underdog as they have covered only three of their last seven as home chalks. Houston should be a live dog in this one at a Tulane team where they have gotten the money in their last two as a road dog.
Utah Utes PK at USC Trojans, Friday, September 20, 2019, 9 p.m. ET, FS1
Poor Clay Helton has been considered as good as fired as coach of the USC Trojans since the start of the College Football season. Last week’s loss at BYU combined with a new Athletic Director coming in the near future only add to the speculation. Utah is arguably the most complete team in the Pac 12 and is getting a bargain price for a game in which they should be favored. The Utes defense ranks sixth in the nation for points allowed and should give USC freshman quarterback Kedon Slovis all kinds of problems in this one. Utah has gotten the money in four of their last five against the Men of Troy.
Central Florida Knights -12 at Pittsburgh Panthers, Saturday, September 21, 2019, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Last week Central Florida flexed its muscles in a 45-27 home payout over Stanford in which the Knights again proved they are the powerful class of Group of Five. Pitt is one of the most offensively inept teams in the country as was proven last week in their botched-up loss at Penn State. Home crowds at Pitt are not crowds at all which means no home field advantage. UCF is the better team in this one.
Washington Huskies-6.5 at BYU Cougars, Saturday, September 21, 2019, 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2
This is a near perfect letdown spot against the Cougars. BYU came back to upset USC last week for a home win in which fans rushed the field. Washington is coming off a powerful 52-30 home payout over Hawaii after a loss to Cal. It is asking a lot for BYU to knock off a quality Pac 12 team two weeks in a row, especially after such an emotional win last week.
UCLA Bruins at Washington State Cougars -18.5, Saturday, September 21, 2019, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Chip Kelly is no longer the X-Box offense coach as he was in his glory days at Oregon. UCLA has not recruited well and is outclassed by an experienced and well coach Wazzu team. Mike Leach’s Cougars have paid in six of their last seven as double digit home chalks.
