Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at #14 Iowa Hawkeyes -24.5, Saturday, September 28, 2019, Noon ET, ESPN2
Iowa is never exciting or flashy and is often an overlay but they are also 3-0 straight up. But the rebuilding Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders may not be able to hang with the Hawkeyes. Iowa has paid in only five of their last 14 games as a double-digit road dog while Middle Tennessee has covered three of their last five as double-digit road dogs, including the only time they were in that role this NCAAF season at Michigan. Iowa’s plodding offense ranks 77th for scoring and may struggle to cover the big lay
#1 Clemson Tigers -28 at North Carolina Tar Heels, Saturday, September 28, 2019, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
The Clemson Tigers are 4-0 straight up and 3-1 with the odds but last year’s freshman phenom Trevor Lawrence has not been up to par. And while North Carolina has lost two in a row they are playing with better effort and fight under new head coach Mack Brown. The Tar Heels have paid in three of their last four home games against Clemson and have lost just two of their last eight on the board as double-digit home dogs.
Mississippi State Bulldogs at #7 Auburn Tigers -11, Saturday, September 23, 2019, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
This could be a potential let down spot for War Eagle after their impressive 28-20 win at Texas A&M. Aubie is now 4-0 straight up and against the spread but will face a resurgent Mississippi State team coming off a 28-13 rebound win over the Kentucky Wildcats to climb to 3-1 straight up. Auburn has covered five of their last eight at home against Hail State. Further, Mississippi State has covered only three of their last nine games away from home. War Eagle has covered five of their last seven at Jordan Hare Stadium.
#5 Ohio State Buckeyes -17.5 at Nebraska Cornhuskers, Saturday, September, 28, 2019, 7:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Nebraska nearly upset the Buckeyes in a 36-31 loss at the Horseshoe last year and now get Ohio State at home as massive underdogs. Ohio State has proven to be an overlay as double digit road chalks with four losses against the spread in their last five in that role. Nebraska has lost five in a row against the board as a home dog, and two straight vs. the line when hosting Ohio State. But the improving Huskers are 3-1 and know they can compete with this OSU team based on last year when they were far less capable.
Nebraska will be a live dog with the College football betting lines. Ohio State has not been tested yet this season but will face an upstart environment at Lincoln. The Big Red’s Adrian Martinez has emerged as one of the top young quarterbacks in college football.
