Public reactions and perception are again making for some potential sleepers with the College football betting lines. So far Week 7 is shaping up as arguably the biggest as far as the betting public taking the previous week into account. When you add that to the general “brands” of various teams that may not match reality you can find some potentially strong values. Perhaps the best example comes from Friday night’s matchup between the Virginia Cavaliers and Miami Hurricanes. The wrong team is likely favored in that matchup. Let’s take a look at our best of the best Wise Guy selections for Week 7.

College Football Week 7 Wise Guy Picks Betting Odds Analysis
Virginia Cavaliers at Miami Hurricanes -2, Friday, October 11, 2019, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN
The wrong team is favored in this one. Someday the public must come to grips with the fact that Miami lost its “swagger” about 17 years ago and it ain’t coming back. The Canes are 2-3 both straight up and against the spread and coming off a 42-35 home loss to a mediocre at best Virginia Tech team as 14-point overlays. The U fell behind 28-0 before a bailout effort fell short. By contrast Virginia is 4-1 straight up, 2-2-1 against the spread and boasts the nation’s 12th ranked defense. Miami ranks 55th in the country for scoring offense and Manny Diaz is no match as a head coach to the Cavaliers Bronco Mendenhall.
Oklahoma Sooners -10.5 vs. Texas Longhorns, Saturday, October 12, 2019, Noon ET, FOX
Oklahoma is 5-0 straight up, 3-2 against the spread and has a top candidate to win the program’s third consecutive Heisman Trophy in quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, Texas has proven to be a dangerous dog in this head to head series at the Cotton Bowl where they have covered six in a row in that role. Texas is 4-1 straight up, 3-2 against the spread and boasts the nation’s 17th ranked passing attack with quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
Mississippi State Bulldogs -6.5 at Tennessee Volunteers, Saturday, October 12, 2019, Noon ET, SEC Network
It has been an undeniably bad start for the 1-4 Tennessee Volunteers who have also gotten the cash just once this year. But the Mississippi State Bulldogs have been wildly inconsistent and will be going up against a Vols team that played hard and at times well in a home loss to the super power Georgia Bulldogs. MSU ranks 106th in the nation for total offense and 98th for scoring. Tennessee has covered four of the last five in their head to head series with Hail State. And the Vols have covered their last two college football home games against the Bulldogs. Beyond all of that Joe Moorhead is being seen by more observers as an odd fit at Starkville.
Michigan State Spartans at Wisconsin Badgers -11, Saturday, October 12, 3:30 p.m. ET, Check Listings
This game will not be for the faint of heart with what should feature brutally hard hitting and nasty defense. Sparty has come home with the cash in two of his last three visits to Camp Randall Stadium. Michigan State ranks 21st in the nation for scoring defense but the offense remains a problem. Wisky has failed to pay in seven of their last 10 as double-digit home dogs at The Camp. This price looks too high on UW.
