The New Orleans Saints are the odds-on favorite to win the NFC South in 2020. The Saints finished 13-3 last season and they return quarterback Drew Brees and a high-powered offense. The Saints are expected to get a stern test this season from the new look Tampa Bay Buccaneers who signed Tom Brady in the off-season.
The Atlanta Falcons are also not without a chance, while the Carolina Panthers are the big longshot in the division. Let’s look at NFC South odds and each of the four teams.

New Orleans Saints -135
The Saints are counting on an aging Drew Brees to lead them this season and they had better hope he is up to the task because Jameis Winston is now the backup quarterback and he is an interception waiting to happen. The Saints have done everything right in the regular season the past couple of years, but they have found new ways to lose in the playoffs.
The team added wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in the off-season to give Brees another receiving target. It is worth noting that the Saints have the easiest schedule of any team in the division and one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. New Orleans should be favored to win the division, but there is no value in betting them at odds of -135.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +165
Is there any team in the NFL that has more hype surrounding them heading into this season? The Bucs are all about Tom Brady in 2020. The future Hall of Fame quarterback leaves New England and will try to turn the Bucs into a contender. He gets his favorite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski to join him.
The Bucs should be potent on offense, but whether they are good enough on defense is the question. It is also worth noting that Brady is trying to do something that is extremely difficult to do and that is to continue to play well into your 40’s. Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time and continues to defy his age, but eventually, he is going to start to slow down. The Bucs don’t present a lot of value at odds of less than 2-1.

Atlanta Falcons +825
The Falcons are an interesting team heading into 2020. They went just 7-9 last season but they won their last four games and saved the job of head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons should have won the Super Bowl just a few years ago and they have most of the same players from that squad. The team went out and added Todd Gurley, Dante Fowler, and Hayden Hurst, but they lost Vic Beasley, Austin Hooper, and Devonta Freeman. It is an all or nothing season for Dan Quinn and the players proved last season they still want to play for him. I think the Falcons are being overlooked this season and they have the most value at odds of 8-1.
Carolina Panthers +2500
The Panthers are the big longshot in the division and there is no reason to think they are going to contend anytime soon. They lost a lot in the offseason, losing tight end Greg Olsen, a number of offensive linemen, and some key defenders. They did very little to replace the lost talent and now they have to basically start over with a new head coach in Matt Rhule and a new quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater.
The Panthers should be better off with Bridgewater instead of Kyle Allen at quarterback, but they don’t have enough weapons beyond Christian McCaffrey and the defense has a lot of holes. The Panthers are longshots for a reason and there is no value in betting them to win the NFC South this season.
