Early NFL Super Bowl LV Odds
Super Bowl Top Contenders
There are four teams that are basically vying for the role of Super Bowl LV favorite. The Chiefs and 49ers definitely make sense as favorites since they are each coming off a Super Bowl appearance and it is no surprise that the Baltimore Ravens are one of the four teams, as they finished with the best record in the AFC this past season. The Patriots are also one of the four teams, but it is unknown at the time of this writing if quarterback Tom Brady will return.
Super Bowl Darkhorses
There is a long list of NFL teams that could be considered darkhorse candidates to win Super Bowl LV. The Saints have the lowest odds of the darkhorses at +1500, but it is unclear as of this writing whether or not quarterback Drew Brees will return. The Cowboys and Steelers are next at odds of +2000, and each will be getting some action because they are marquee teams. The Cowboys also have a new head coach in Mike McCarthy who knows how to win a Super Bowl. The Steelers will be getting a healthy Ben Roethlisberger back and they may be a contender once again. The Packers, Eagles, and Seahawks are the other darkhorse contenders in the NFC, while the Los Angeles Chargers are the other darkhorse contender in the AFC. The Chargers will have a new quarterback in 2020, as the team is not bringing back Philip Rivers.
Super Bowl Live Longshots
It is shocking that the Los Angeles Rams are in this category, but they are listed at odds of +3000. You can say the same thing about the Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, and Tennessee Titans. The Atlanta Falcons may also fit into this category, as they finished the 2019 NFL season strongly. The Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, Detroit Lions, and New York Jets are at least interesting longshots. Overrated longshots look to be the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears.
Super Bowl Big Longshots
There is no reason to think the Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins or Washington Redskins can compete for a Super Bowl title next NFL season. The only one of those four teams that has a quarterback capable of winning a Super Bowl is Jacksonville, as they have Nick Foles under center.
