2018 Breeders’ Cup Classic
We won’t get to see Triple Crown winner Justify in the Classic, as the horse is retired, but there will be some marquee horses in the race. The early favorite to win the race is Accelerate at odds of 3-1. Accelerate was very impressive in winning the Pacific Classic by 12 lengths. The horse is the 5-year old son of Lookin at Lucky and he has three wins at a mile and a quarter, the same distance as the Classic. Accelerate is expected to get one more start, the Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita before the Classic.
BetCris Sportsbook has the latest news about horse racing, great Breeders Cup betting odds and horse racetrack information, race results and payouts, past performances and top earnings, recent winners, possible race contenders and official race entries.
Catholic Boy is getting a lot of action after his impressive win in the Travers Stakes. Catholic Boy is listed at odds of 7-1. He beat an excellent field that included Kentucky Derby runner-up Good Magic, Preakness runner-up Bravazo, Belmont Stakes runner-up Gronkowski and Kentucky Oaks runner-up Wonder Gadot. The final prep race for Catholic Boy could be the Hill Prince at Belmont Park. The other option would be the Jockey Club Gold Cup but that race is expected to have Diversify who is an extremely talented horse.
Speaking of Diversity, the 5-year old gelding has won three straight races, including the Whitney Handicap. He is currently listed at odds of 10-1 to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Mendelssohn is the next choice in early Breeders’ Cup Classic betting at odds of 11-1. He won last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. He finished last in the Kentucky Derby and was third in the Dwyer Stakes.
West Coast is listed at odds of 12-1. The Bob Baffert trained horse has been on a long layoff. The connections of the horse said that Baffert is great at preparing a horse off a layoff and West Coast may not get a prep race. The horse is expected to run in the Pegasus World Cup in late November and then be retired to stud. West Coast won the Travers and Pennsylvania Derby last year.
