It has been a wacky season of Triple Crown horse racing. The winner of the Kentucky Derby, Maximum Security, was disqualified for running into other horses, and then a jockey-less horse finished the Preakness. The final leg of the prestigious three races will be held on Saturday as some of the top horses reconvence for the Belmont Stakes.
This could be shaping up to be a two-horse race, as the oddsmakers clearly believe that Tacitus and War of Will stand out beyond the rest of the candidates. However, darkhorses always seem to emerge even when counted out, and it seems natural that this race will deal with some unlikely factors like the two others before it in 2019. There will be no Triple Crown winner this season but War of Will can still win the final two races by claiming victory at the Belmont Stakes in horse racing odds.
The Belmont Stakes will be held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York at 6:48 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 8th, 2019. The race will be nationally televised on NBC.
We'll have horse racing odds at Betcris available for every notable race of the 2019 calendar year.

A Look At The Favorites
War of Will won the Preakness and will aim to become the 12th horse to win the Belmont as well without claiming the Triple Crown. War of Will got a bad draw in the Kentucky Derby by getting slowed down by Maximum Security but flexed his muscle without as much congestion in the Preakness. War of Will is certainly a horse to watch in this race, and even the longer track is not expected to have that much of a negative effect. He is the only horse to run in all three of the races, which has some questioning if fatigue will become a factor.
Tacitus finished third at the Kentucky Derby and has had ample time off to prepare for this one. Tacitus is the slight favorite and hopes to live up to that billing. Tacitus is the son of Tapit and hopes to become the next winner of the Belmont Stakes.
Master Fencer is not quite in the same category as the previous two but has intriguing potential. Master Fencer finished well at the Kentucky Derby, and that type of long-range ability has bettors believing he could make a nice push at the end of the longer Belmont Stakes.
Intrepid Heart has become a chic choice at 10-1 odds. This is another descendant of Tapit, and while the performance hasn’t been there lately, the lineage is good and there is belief that Intrepid Heart can put it all together at the Belmont Stakes.

Even though War of Will did not capture the Kentucky Derby, many are wondering if the result would have been different if not for the congestion in the race. He looked great at the Preakness and will pull out another win here.
War of Will has separated himself as the best horse. Even though this is a quick turnaround after the Preakness, and even with the longer distance, War of Will’s talent will shine through. Forgo the longshots, and while Tacitus may be the betting favorite, War of Will is the correct call in horse racing wagering.
