BETCRIS MMA UFC Fight Night 128 odds

Kevin Lee is a slight favorite against Edson Barboza in the main event at UFC Fight Night 128 on Saturday night in New Jersey. Lee is 16-3 in his career but coming off a loss to Tony Ferguson, while Barboza is 19-5 in his career and coming off a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. There are six fights on the main card on FS1 and seven preliminary bouts, with four on FS1 and three on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s look at the event with a focus on Barboza vs. Lee and Edgar vs. Swanson and UFC picks.

Bet on UFC at BetCris

Kevin Lee -145 vs. Edson Barboza

Lee had been rolling along, winning five straight bouts until he was stopped by Tony Ferguson at UFC 216 last October. Barboza had won three in a row before losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 219 last December. This is an interesting matchup, as Lee is the grappler, while Barboza is the striker. Lee is favored in this bout even though Barboza is the higher ranked fighter. Barboza is ranked No. 4 in the USA Today lightweight rankings, while Lee is ranked No. 7.

Lee has predicted a dominating victory on Saturday night. “Domination.” Lee said recently to the media, “I don’t think the man can go 25 minutes with me. I don’t think really, there’s not a lot of men in this world that can, so it’s gonna be domination. I’m saying three (rounds) he gets up out of there. But tune into the fight, you’ll see it unfold.”

UFC Picks

There is no question that Lee is going to look to get this fight to the mat as quick as possible, while Barboza will try and avoid the takedown and turn this into a striking battle. I am not sure which fighter will impose his will but what I do know is that both will be trying to end this fight early. Barboza simply can’t let this fight drag out, so he is going to be looking to land big shots. I will take this fight to not go the distance.

Frankie Edgar -225 vs. Cub Swanson

The co-main event has Edgar taking on Swanson. Edgar is coming off a knockout loss to Brian Ortega, while Swanson is also coming off a loss to Ortega. Edgar is 22-6-1 in his career, while Swanson is 25-8 in his career. Edgar and Swanson met back in 2014 and it was Edgar winning by fourth round submission.

UFC Picks

Edgar is listed as about a 2-1 favorite over Swanson and I can’t see any reason to back the underdog. Edgar has proven throughout his career he is a well-rounded fighter and he has already beaten Swanson. I will lay the price and take Edgar to win this fight.
