  • The greatest rivalry in CONCACAF will add another chapter to its legacy when the United States hosts Mexico in a friendly on Friday night just outside of the Big Apple. El Tri have long had the upper hand in this rivalry, and they come into this friendly confident following Mexico’s 1-0 win over the USMNT in the Gold Cup Final two months ago. Mexico holds a 35-19-15 record against the United States.   More

  • The lone MLS team to win their Leagues Cup match last month was the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy did not use star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the match, but they managed to advance thanks to a penalty shootout victory over Club Tijuana. They overcame a 2-1 deficit due to goals from Emmanuel Boateng and David Romney, and then Tijuana only found the back of the net once in the shootout. LA will look to advance to the first Leagues Cup Final with a win over Cruz Azul on Tuesday.   More

  • The Leagues Cup is the latest tournament to pit teams from Liga MX against teams from the MLS. That has generally gone very much in favor of teams south of the border, and one of the semifinals will pit two Mexican teams against each other after three of four Liga MX sides won their quarterfinals match.   More

  • The UEFA Super Cup is contested annually between the previous season’s Champions League winner and the previous campaign’s Europa League winner. After last year’s all-English finals for both events, this year’s Super Cup will be an all-English affair too. Liverpool are the favorites to hoist the trophy after winning the Champions League last season, but Chelsea are out to claim another title after their Europa League win.   More

  • Last year, the Campeones Cup saw its debut. This new trophy between the MLS and Liga MX was christened as part of an effort to strengthen regional ties and increase the quality of competition in North America as a whole. The MLS Cup winner squares off against the Campeon de Campoenes from Liga MX, and this year’s edition will see Atlanta United host Club America. Atlanta are out to avenge MLS colleague Toronto after the Canadian club fell to UANL Tigres 3-1 in 2018.   More

  • Earlier this summer, it was announced that La Liga and Serie A would create a new challenge cup. Teams from the two leagues will square off over the course of two neutral site games to determine the winner of the cup, and the first playing of this new trophy will feature two of the top teams in Europe. Barcelona and Napoli will meet twice in four days with the first meeting coming in Miami on Wednesday night followed by a match in Ann Arbor on Saturday.   More

  • Two European juggernauts are set to square off a long way from home when Chelsea and Barcelona meet in Japan on Tuesday. These two clubs opted not to take part in the International Champions Cup, and they are instead going to be playing a handful of preseason games on multiple continents. Fans of both clubs are eager to see their summer signings in action, and this is the first chance to see them live.   More

  • Venezuela will be looking for their first win over the United States in international soccer when the two countries meet on Sunday. La Vinotinto are 0-3-2 in five previous meetings with the USMNT, but there is reason to be optimistic about their chances here. Gregg Berhalter has largely committed to a youth movement, and there are only a couple veterans on the USMNT roster ahead of this year’s Gold Cup. Additionally, the Americans are 4-2-5 in their last 11 matches, and they did not look great earlier this week.   More

  • The United States Men’s National Team was not too impressive in their first game with a full squad available under new coach Gregg Berhalter. The USMNT were sharp on defense against Ecuador on Thursday night, allowing the Tricolor just one shot attempt and no shots on goal throughout the match, but the offense was lackluster. Only an incredibly fortunate deflection and a baffled goalkeeper gave the USMNT a 1-0 win over Ecuador in Orlando, and now the Stars and Stripes will face a more challenging test when they take on Chile on Tuesday.   More

  • There are more than three years before now and the next World Cup, so teams are starting to lay out their plans to ensure they better their chances at qualifying for Qatar in 2022. This is the time to give a lot of your young talent some games in order to give them seasoning and see what they can provide in the future, and both the United States and Ecuador are out to do that here. Neither country was able to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, so they are more wont to shake things up in a big way.   More

  • Maurizio Sarri’s time at Chelsea may be at an end. Sarri was brought in from Napoli to replace the embattled Antonio Conte in Roman Abramovich’s latest game of managerial musical chairs, but the results have started to tail off. After a strong start to the season, Chelsea are now outside of the top four in the Premier League, and the Blues have lost by multiple goals in three of their last six games. A multiple goal loss in the Carabao Cup Final to Manchester City where he plays Sarri-ball will likely mean an end to his time at Stamford Bridge.   More

  • Rare is the week that doesn't involve any major Cup action across England, but when that does happen, you can bet that the top teams in the Premier League are going to have a couple really tough fixtures. The EPL is in the midst of a two-match week starting on Tuesday, and that's just the tip of the iceberg of what should be a great week for soccer bettors.   More

    England vs USA

By Jonathan Willis Unsurprisingly, England have dominated their head-to-head history with the United States. The Three Lions have a 7-1-2 record in their 10 meetings with the United States, and they are undefeated against the Stars and Stripes in friendlies. However, the US have picked up results against   More

  • Real Madrid is a slight favorite against rival Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday. This will be the first time two teams from the same city will be playing in the Super Cup. It will be the 43rd edition of the UEFA Super Cup that matches up the reigning Champions League and Europa League winners.   More

  • Before La Liga gets underway next week we have the Supercopa taking place on Sunday, as Sevilla FC plays Barcelona. This year the Spanish Super Cup will be a single match instead of a two-leg competition and this year the match will be held at a neutral site in Morocco. Barcelona won La Liga last season, while Sevilla finished in seventh place.   More

  • One of football’s great traditions is the FA Community Shield, which is a match between the winners of the English Premier League and the FA Cup. The match will take place at famed Wembley Stadium. Manchester City was the dominant winner of the Premier League for 2017-18 and has emerged as one of the top teams in the world.   More

  • Barcelona has a chance to make history. By any measure, it’s been a successful season for the Blaugrana. They have already locked up the La Liga title and won their fourth straight Copa del Rey two weeks ago. However, now they can become immortal.   More

  • Just three months ago, CD Leganes gave us one of the biggest shocks of the season. Leganes is a club without much of a history. They first broke into La Liga last year and just narrowly avoided relegation, finishing in 17th. The goal for Leganes this year was just to stay in La Liga, and anything else was gravy.   More

  • This has been a year full of ups and downs for Sevilla. The club had one of its best seasons ever in European play, making it to the Champions League Quarterfinals and giving Bayern Munich a run for its money. However, a return to the Champions League is no longer in the cards and even a return to Europe is doubtful with the team currently in seventh place in La Liga.   More
