Manchester United have an opportunity to pick up some silverware this weekend when they face AC Milan. They are the only team left with a chance to nip Benfica for the International Champions Cup, but they need to win by three or more goals in order to claim the preseason trophy. As for AC Milan, the club is just hoping for a result, although a goal might do after being shut out in both of its previous ICC matches.

It hasn’t been the best preseason for AC Milan. While they did look strong in the back, they were unable to get much going up front in 1-0 losses to Benfica and Bayern Munich in the United States.
Getting to diamond status was important for Manchester United this preseason, as the club jet-setted around the world for their matches. The Red Devils have faced local teams in Perth and Oslo, Leeds United in Perth, Inter Milan in Singapore, and Tottenham Hotspur in Shanghai over the past few weeks.
Manchester United have looked very sharp, especially on defense, thus far in the preseason. They have allowed just one goal in five games (against Tottenham), and they have won all five of their matches by a combined score of 10-1.
New Faces – AC Milan
Bringing in Franck Kessie from Atalanta and left back Theo Hernandez from Real Madrid were the two biggest monetary moves for AC Milan this summer. The traditional powerhouse continues to be hamstrung by a lack of funds, and they haven’t made the huge splash that we have seen from their Italian counterparts.
The return of Andre Silva is a boost too. Even though Silva has not been the star they had hoped he would be when he was acquired from Porto, he is still a young player with untapped potential, and he has been linked to Monaco and Spurs if the club decides to part ways with him.
Key Departures – AC Milan
The Rossoneri saw two talented youngsters leave over the summer. Midfielder Manuel Locatelli was signed by Sassuolo on a permanent basis after being loaned to the club last year, and forward Patrick Cutrone left for Wolves in the Premier League.
New Faces – Manchester United
Although the Red Devils were unable to make it back to the Champions League, the board made a splash by acquiring right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. United shelled out over $62 million to bring him in, and everyone has been excited with his play. He has performed very well in defense, and there are signs he might be a better offensive threat than originally believed. That’s great news with Eric Bertrand Bailly being lost for five months with a knee injury.
Key Departures – Manchester United
Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, and James Wilson all left on free transfers over the summer, and there is still a real chance the Red Devils will say goodbye to superstar midfielder Paul Pogba too. Pogba has been linked to Real Madrid throughout the summer, and there is a real fear that he might depart for the Bernabeu.
The under is a solid bet in this International Soccer Game. AC Milan play a traditional Italian style, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has honed in on improving the defense. Manchester United allowed the most goals they have given up in a season since joining the Premier League, so plenty of attention has been focused in the back.
