Among the most successful franchises in all of Major League Soccer have been the Portland Timbers. With a passionate fan base and a 2015 championship there is much for them to be proud of. So far this year the Timbers have been solid though not quire dominant. And recently there has been a slight degree of inconsistency.
For the Montreal Impact it has been another year of frustration. After peaking with a conference final in 2015 the Impact are wallowing in the bottom of the knockout round standings. Yet lately they have shown marked improvement.
