After a strong start Sporting Kansas City has tailed off and has recently lost three out of their last four games. Coach Peter Vermes played for the franchise in 2000-02 when it was known as the Kansas City Wizards. He has been coach of Sporting KC since 2009 and has a career record there of 156 wins, 90 draws, and 110 losses. Vermes is the only person in history to win the MLS Cup both as a player and a coach with the same team.
