• Premier League 2019-20 season: There is a clear delineation in the race for the top four in the English Premier League. The two best teams in the English Premier League will square off on Thursday afternoon at the Etihad when Manchester City welcomes Liverpool to town. This match has lost a bit of its luster as Liverpool locked up their first Premier League title in club history last week, but the Citizens can do their part to prevent the Reds from making history. Liverpool can break City’s record 100-point season with a maximum of 107 points if they win their last seven matches.   More

  • Manchester United and the Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently tied for fifth place in the Premier League with 34 points apiece. Both clubs are after a spot in the Champions League next season, and they are six points behind Chelsea for that spot. We are almost two-thirds of the way through the Premier League season, so each team is running out of time to make up that ground. That makes getting three points on Saturday a big deal for both squads.   More

  • It’s hard to describe Liverpool’s 2019-20 campaign without gesticulating wildly and babbling about the Reds’ dominance. Liverpool have been the best team in the Premier League by a country mile, leading the league by 14 points even though they have played one less game than second-place Manchester City. They are set to finally end a three-decade long league title drought in an emphatic way, holding a 20-1-0 record in mid-January. Liverpool are on pace to smash Manchester City’s record as the best team in the history of the Premier League, and they are heavy favorites per the Premier League betting odds to grab all three points at home against Manchester United this week.   More

  • Liverpool’s domestic title drought is almost certain to come to an end this season. The Reds are on pace to be the most dominant team in the history of the Premier League by a wide margin. They are already blowing Manchester City’s recent record out of the water, and this club has only lost once in league play since May 2018. Liverpool are 19-1-0 with a +35 goal differential, and the Reds lead second-place Leicester City by 13 points despite playing one less game. Jurgen Klopp’s squad has not lost a Premier League match in over a year, and Liverpool will look to keep it rolling on the road against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.   More

  • It appears that Arsene Wenger wasn’t responsible for the mess in north London. Arsenal have performed even worse since Wenger was sacked, and Unai Emery was fired earlier this year after a little more than a year on the job. The Gunners have completely collapsed since Emery was replaced, and the storied club is in the bottom half of the table. At the midway mark of the season, Arsenal are on pace to have their worst campaign in 25 years, and Manchester United can make things worse for the Gunners on New Year’s Day.   More

  • Norwich City are in a difficult position at the halfway point of the season. The Canaries are tied with Watford as the worst team in the Premier League, and there are six points separating Norwich City from safety. The Canaries are going to need at least 20 points in their last 20 games to stay afloat in the Premier League, and it would be huge if Norwich City picked up points against Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have been playing well since Mauricio Pochettino was sacked though, and they are looking to climb into the top four over the second half of the season.   More

  • Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are likely going to be fighting for the last Champions League spot in the Premier League this season, so their clash on Sunday is huge. The Blues are currently three points ahead of Spurs for that spot with a 9-2-6 record, but Tottenham are coming on strong since Jose Mourinho took over for Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs are favored to beat Chelsea per the Premier League betting odds, and a win would take them to 8-5-5 and place them ahead of Tottenham on goal differential.   More

  • The Southampton Saints have been in the Premier League since 2012, but they have only just avoided relegation the last two seasons. After four straight top eight finishes, Southampton finished 17th in 2017-18 and 16th in 2018-19, and they are languishing at the bottom of the table again this campaign. The Saints are currently level on points with 17th place Aston Villa, but they are in the relegation zone with a -17 goal differential. Points are crucial with demotion on the line, and they have a great chance to move themselves out of the drop zone with fellow stragglers West Ham United coming to St. Mary’s Stadium.   More

  • This week’s Manchester Derby is the Premier League Game of the Week. Manchester City has owned this rivalry lately, as the Red Devils have won just four of the last 16 league meetings between these two teams. However, City are at their weakest point in three years, clinging to third place in the Premier League table ahead of this match. The Citizens’ hopes of a threepeat are off in the distance after a 10-2-3 record to start this campaign, and they are 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool.   More

  • Two veteran teams aching to pull themselves out of the relegation zone will meet in NBC’s Match of the Week this Saturday. Watford are in last place with a 1-5-7 record and eight points on the season. The Hornets are five points away from safety, but they might need a little more since they have a pitiful -18 goal differential. Southampton are a little better with a 2-3-8 record and nine points, but they also have a -18 goal differential and are four points from safety. Both clubs need a win in the worst way when they meet at St. Mary’s Stadium.   More

Manchester City vs Chelsea FREE Picks

By Jonathan Willis Chelsea and Manchester City are both firmly in position to qualify for next year’s Champions League, but these clubs have different aspirations when it comes to where they expect to finish in the table. At the start of the year, most Chelsea fans would have gladly accepted a top four finish given the state of the roster, but expectations are much loftier for Manchester City. The Citizens have won the Premier League in consecutive years with two of the best finishes in league history, and they were odds-on favorites to complete the threepeat this year. Anything less than another league title would be a disappointment for Pep Guardiola and City.   More

  • The Premier League returns this weekend after an international break, meaning that Manchester City’s quest for a third straight domestic title is in the spotlight again. The Citizens have had three shock results this year, and that has City eight points behind league leaders Liverpool. Manchester City are still slight favorites to threepeat per the Premier League betting odds, but they must start blasting opponents once more if they want to win the league. Crystal Palace knocked off City in the Etihad last year, so City must not let their guard down again.   More

  • Outside of the top two, the Premier League appears to be wide open this season. Leicester City and Arsenal are currently third and fourth in the table, and West Ham United are right behind those two clubs in fifth place. The Hammers have looked sharp this season, with their only loss being a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City in the season opener. West Ham will be out to keep their six-game results streak going with at least a draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday.   More

  • Manchester City made history against Watford last week. The Citizens scored five goals inside of 18 minutes against the Hornets, scoring five goals faster than any other team in the modern Premier League era. However, they are still five points behind Liverpool in their bid for a third straight league title, so they know they need to keep winning and hope the Reds drop points in order to catch up. Oddsmakers are believers as Manchester City are still the favorites to win the league per the Premier League betting odds, and they are sizable road favorites against Everton this Saturday.   More

  • Coming into the season, the two established Premier League sides that were considered to be in the most trouble were Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United. Brighton finished last season just two points clear of the relegation zone, while Newcastle were the second-favorite to get relegated per soccer futures odds following a dismal summer. The oddsmakers’ predictions are ringing true through the first five games of this season with Brighton sitting in 16th place with five points and a -3 goal differential and Newcastle in 18th place with a -4 goal differential.   More

  • Norwich City have been one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League this season, even though the Canaries are currently in the relegation zone. They have brought their up-tempo style and attacking mindset from the Championship to the Premier League, and there has been an average of four goals scored in Norwich games thus far in 2019. That’s much better than you typically see from recently promoted sides who typically turtle and play for low-scoring games. Hopefully, they keep that mindset going into this week’s game against Manchester City, as it could lead to the highest scoring game of the season.   More

  • Liverpool are just where they want to be after three weeks. The Reds are top of the table, and they are the only team in the Premier League with an unblemished record. Fans are optimistic this is the year that Liverpool finally wins the league title, so they don’t want to drop any points after finishing runners-up to Manchester City last year. Burnley will be out to play spoiler, and they are in good form heading into this match.   More

  • It’s been an interesting start to the Premier League season. Only one team has an unblemished record (Liverpool), only one team has lost all three of its matches (Watford), and a whopping 10 teams have 1-1-1 records. That means there is plenty of room for movement this week for most clubs.   More

  • The last time Arsenal travelled to Anfield, they were shredded in the back. Although the Gunners got on the board first, Liverpool proceeded to pick them apart for the rest of the match with Roberto Firmino netting a hat trick, and Sadio Mane and Mo Salah both scoring goals in a 5-1 win. Arsenal are optimistic they can prevent that this time around, as they have allowed just one goal this season.   More

  • Manchester City are the latest team to be livid about VAR. It appeared that Gabriel Jesus had put the Citizens ahead in extra time of their home opener against Tottenham Hotspur, but his goal was disallowed after the review caught an inadvertent handball. That led to a livid Jesus protesting his complaints after the match as City were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Spurs. The result led to City falling out of first place, and Liverpool are currently top of the table. The Reds will face a test this week though as they host the only other team in the EPL with two wins.   More

  • Manchester City are looking to match their city rival by winning three Premier League titles in a row. The Citizens have had two straight incredible seasons, and they are looking to make it three in a row with a win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.   More

  • After one week of action, the two Manchester clubs are atop the Premier League table. Manchester City are expected to be there after winning two straight Premier League titles in two of the best seasons we’ve seen from any club, but Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Chelsea in the opener was a surprise. The Red Devils were favored, yet only in their wildest dreams would they have believed they would win by such a huge margin. Each side will face a challenge in staying unbeaten this week.   More

  • There’s just one battle between Big Six clubs on the first matchday of the Premier League season. In the Matchday 1 finale, Manchester United will play host to rival Chelsea in a game that is sure to see some sparks. These two clubs do not like each other, as we saw when they met in Stamford Bridge last year. Both powers may have an uphill battle getting their teams back to the Champions League in the first full season under new coaches, and a win for either side here would be important.   More

  • Coming into the season, most experts are pegging Tottenham Hotspur to finish in third place in the Premier League. Spurs finished in fourth place last season, but they have improved greatly after their dream Champions League run. They have improved in the offseason with the signing of Tanguy Ndombele, and Mauricio Pochettino will get the most out of this lineup. Spurs will look to start their campaign with a win, while Aston Villa would be happy with any result on the road in their Premier League return.   More

  • The Premier League season is upon us and everyone is itching to bet on the Premier League. Although Liverpool and Manchester City are the overwhelming favorites to win the league, all 20 teams are optimistic about their chances and hoping to claim the silverware at the end of the season. Every team will be in action on opening weekend and it all starts with Liverpool and Norwich City meeting in Anfield on Friday evening.   More
