Can anything possibly top the wild 2015-16 Premier League season we just wrapped up? Bettors are going to be all over the longshots this year for sure, as they're all going to try to pick out the next Leicester City, the team which came out of nowhere to go from the longest shot on the board to the EPL title holders for the first time in their history.

Pep Guardiola has won everywhere he's been for the most part, and the hope that Manchester City has is that he's going to do the same at the Ethiad. It's tough to argue with what Manuel Pellegrini did with that squad, but when a talent like Guardiola comes by and wants to manage your team for the right price, you've got to take advantage of the situation.
The squad for Manchester City doesn't seem on paper to be any stronger than it was a season ago, but there's still a lot of confidence here that Guardiola can get the job done. That's why the Citizens are the favorites to open up the 2016-17 season at +225.
The biggest challenge for City will be its always-noisy neighbors from Manchester United. The Red Devils have undertaken a big change as well, bringing in the much-maligned Jose Mourinho from Chelsea to try to lead the club. By all accounts, Mourinho is a fantastic manager, though last season at Stamford Bridge was a complete and utter disaster which saw him sacked in the middle of the campaign.
The difference between Manchester United and the rest of the Premier League teams at the top of the table in a disappointing season is that it really showed some promise for the future. Anthony Martial played well for much of the year and is set for a starring role, and it could be a matter of time before the bluebloods are asked to move on to set the table for Martial and Marcus Rashford to take over the starring roles.
Arsenal ( +500 ), Chelsea ( +600 ), Liverpool ( +800 ) and Tottenham ( +800 ) make up the rest of the top teams which can seemingly win it all heading into the season, though it would feel like a stretch for any of these clubs to truly achieve much beyond what they reached last year. Liverpool is the one of the bunch seeming ready to take the biggest jump with Jurgen Klopp now in charge of the team for a full offseason, but we're not believers yet.
And then there are those crazy Foxes. Leicester City is probably the most overstated team in the Premier League right now. Sure, they were miracle workers last year, but this is a new campaign, and King Power Stadium isn't sneaking up on anyone anymore. In fact, we still think that relegation is a serious threat for Leicester in spite of the fact that it won the title last year and elected to not sell Jamie Vardy at his peak value during the summer transfer window.
West Ham leads the next tier of teams, and by all accounts, it has a club which could threaten for a spot in the Champions League next year if a lot goes right. The Hammers have been perennially solid, but there's a big difference between being good enough to beat out Liverpool or Arsenal in any given year and beating out all of the big boys. Sure, Leicester City did it last year, but West Ham just doesn't seem to have the right mix at the back yet to be serious title contenders.
