Over the next few days, Manchester City can put a bow on its Premier League campaign with some good results against Arsenal and Chelsea. Manchester City is already 13 points clear of Manchester United with 10 games left to play, and picking up wins in both of those games would shut the door on any possible comeback. However, if City were to lose both of those games, there would be at least a glimmer of hope for teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to storm back and challenge for the crown by the end of the year.

These two sides met in the Carabao Cup Final just a few days ago, with Manchester City leaving no doubt as to who the better side was. Manchester City dominated from start to finish, with long-time veterans Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany, and David Silva finding the back of the net in a 3-0 victory.
It was an embarrassing defeat for Arsenal, and to make matters worse, the Gunners will not have one of their top defenders for their Premier League rematch. Nacho Monreal suffered a back injury in the loss and has already been ruled out for this game. Not having him to mark City’s wings, will test Arsenal’s defense even further.
Manchester City will be without a couple key players too. Raheem Sterling is still recovering from an injury and won’t be making the trip to London for this match, while Fernandinho will be on the sidelines as well.
The good news for Arsenal is that they will be able to use Henrikh Mkhitaryan this time around. Mkhitaryan was ineligible to play in the Carabao Cup final, but he is good to go for this one. Pairing him with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given this offense a spark over the last month, and they should look more lively on that end.
Liverpool vs. Newcastle
Date and Time: March 3, 2018, 12:30 p.m. ET
US Television Coverage: NBCSN
Betting Line: Liverpool -2, O/U 3 and 2.5
With apologies to Manchester City, no team is as exciting as Liverpool at the moment. Liverpool has really come alive offensively with a beautiful free-flowing attack that has been a joy to watch. Mo Salah is making a run for the Player of the Year award and might catch Harry Kane to finish as the league’s top goal scorer, and recently Sadio Mane and Robert Firmino have been playing fantastic football too.
Mane and Firmino needed some time to step into the rhythm of this offense, but now that they have the goals have been pouring in. Liverpool hammered West Ham and Basel recently, with both players having superb performances.
You can’t take a win for granted though. Newcastle have a defense that is in the top half of the Premier League in goals allowed, and they picked off Manchester United just a few weeks back. Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is in charge of Newcastle and knows what the team needs to do to get a result at Anfield.

Arsenal has only dropped one match at home all season, but Manchester City whipped them just a few days ago at a neutral site. It’s hard to imagine that the addition of Mkhitaryan will make that big of a difference, so go with Manchester City to win 2-1 in the first game.
It will take some time to break through, but Liverpool will eventually find a crack in Newcastle’s defense and add another goal late to seal a 2-0 victory.
