Everton at Wolverhampton TV Coverage:NBC
Everton had all kinds of trouble on defense last season, as only five teams gave up more goals. Everton manager Marco Silva said that his team simply has to be better defensively this season if they are to make any headway in the standings. “We need to improve our defensive organization in some moments – we are working on that and, for sure, in future we will improve.” Silva said to the media, "Our players are working hard and trying to do everything to understand a different methodology and philosophy and ideas.” Everton did next to nothing in the transfer window and one of their signings was unpopular, as Richarlison from Watford cost a lot of money and he is unproven.
Wolverhampton had a very good season in the League Championship a year ago and they look to be improved this year, as they make the jump to the Premier League. They went out and signed Joao Moutinho from AS Monaco and Jonny Castro from Atletico Madrid.
Wolverhampton looked good in the preseason and they are coming off a 2-1 win over Villarreal. "We were excited before Villarreal, we couldn't wait for that one at Molineux in front of our home crowd.” Wolverhampton’s Conor Coady said to the media, "We love playing football at Molineux. Now it's under our belts we feel good and ready." Coady said that Wolves played some good opposition in the preseason. "The quality opposition have been there all pre-season, even Stoke and Derby are really good sides, we had Young Boys and Ajax and we've got to get used to that sort of opposition."
If Wolverhampton is going to have a successful season then they need striker Raul Jimenez to deliver. He got his first goal for Wolves in the win over Villarreal. He joined the team on loan from Benfica in June and he has already shown the ability to get open. The goal against Villarreal should take the pressure off him and he should be ready for a good performance against Everton.
Everton and Wolverhampton have a long history, with Everton winning 60 times, Wolverhampton winning 44 times, with 26 draws. The teams have not met since the 2012 season when they played to a scoreless draw. Three of the last five meetings between the teams have ended in a draw.

This game looks to be very even and it would not surprise me at all to see it end in a draw. I lean a little bit to the Wolves because they are at home, but I just don’t see enough value in the line to take Wolverhampton. I think there is more value in playing the draw at odds of +222. I am also not sold on Everton’s defense, so I lean a little bit to taking the game over the total.
Everton at Wolverhampton Pick:Draw and Over the Total
Everton at Wolverhampton Score Prediction:Everton 2, Wolverhampton 2
