BetCRIS Premier League Games of the Week

The race for the four Champions League spots is essentially down to five teams at this point. Manchester City has one of them, and the league, pretty much in hand at this point, but there are four other clubs looking to snag one of the other three spots. Things are pretty tight as four points separate second-place Manchester United from fifth-place Tottenham, with Chelsea and Liverpool in between the two.

Liverpool vs. West Ham

Date and Time: February 24, 2018, 10 a.m. ET

Location: Anfield

US Television Coverage: CNBC

Betting Line: Liverpool -2, O/U 3, 3.5

Liverpool is the second-highest scoring team England’s top flight and many people are expecting them to light up one of the worst defenses in the Premier League. The Reds are riding high at the moment. They dismantled Porto 5-0 in their last match and seem to be a lock to make it to the Champions League Quarterfinals.

This offense is humming. Mo Salah continues to light it up and has a real chance at being the top scorer in the Premier League at the end of the season, while Sadio Mane has renewed confidence after notching a hat trick against Porto.

West Ham has gotten at least a point in four of their last five road games and is not one of those teams that will park the bus in front of net. This team likes to open it up and is not afraid to take chances.

The over is a great play in this game. There were five goals in the first match between these two teams, and there could be just as many this time around. Chicharito and Marko Arnautovic will push and create chances for West Ham, while Liverpool won’t let up on the Hammers back line.

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Date and Time: February 25, 2018, 9:05 a.m. ET

Location: Old Trafford

US Television Coverage: NBCSN

Betting Line: Manchester United PK, -0.5, O/U 2, 2.5

United’s midfield has some major question marks coming into this match. Ander Herrera suffered an injury against Sevilla on Wednesday and he has already been ruled out for the tilt against Chelsea. It’s a big loss for a team that has lacked creativity at times.

Additionally, rumor has it that Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho are feuding. Pogba has been asked to take on a more defensive role since Alexis Sanchez was acquired from Arsenal, and he has not responded well. He struggled in the back end and has voiced his displeasure with his new charge. Surprisingly, he was benched for the start of the Champions League match against Sevilla, but came on quickly after Herrera’s injury.

Chelsea has been looking for better play out of its attackers, and the Blues received some great play out of Willian in their Champions League match against Barcelona. Willian hit the post twice and scored once in one of his most brilliant performances of the season. Now, the question is whether Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata can perform better.

It might be difficult for Chelsea to score against the best goaltender in the Premier League. David De Gea was a cut above against Sevilla and has been masterful all season long. His defenders have let him down at times, but De Gea has stood tall in net and kept Manchester United in good shape.

Over is a great bet in the first match, but if you are going to go with a side, back West Ham. Two goals is too much to lay against a team that can also score. In the top game of the week, back Manchester United and look for De Gea to play splendidly.
