La Liga Matchday 2 Free Betting Odds Report

Athletic Bilbao fired a shot across the bow of La Liga last week by stunning defending champions Barcelona in the first game of the 2019-20 La Liga season. The Blaugrana had lost a total of four league matches in their last two campaigns, so they are in an unfamiliar spot entering Matchday 2. Real Madrid and Sevilla are at the top of the table entering this week, and they are favored to remain there.

UD Levante PK -110 vs. CF Villarreal, O/U 2.5 and 3

The most exciting Soccer match of the first week of the season was an unexpected one. Villarreal and Granada played to a 4-4 draw with six goals scored in the second half. While it was a disappointing result for the Yellow Submarine as they blew a 4-2 lead at home, it’s at least encouraging to see them scoring again after a dismal performance last year. Look for them to earn a road result here.

Granada CF +0.5 vs. FC Sevilla, O/U 2.5

There will be an electric atmosphere in Granada’s first home game since returning to La Liga. They are pitted against regional rival Sevilla, and the home crowd would be euphoric with a result against the best team in Andalusia. Sevilla are once again off to a strong start with a 2-0 win over Espanyol in their opener.

CF Getafe PK -120 vs. Athletic Bilbao, O/U 2

It’s incredibly difficult to get points against Bilbao in the Basque region, but this team is a different animal on the road. Getafe were one of the most surprising teams of last season and nearly qualified for the Champions League, and they looked sharp despite losing to Atletico Madrid in their opener. I think Getafe will secure the three points.

Real Madrid -2 vs. Real Valladolid, O/U 3.5

Should Real Madrid really be the biggest favorite of the week considering the club will be without two of their best players on Saturday? Eden Hazard is out another few weeks with a thigh injury, and Luka Modric’s red card in a 3-1 win over Celta Vigo in the opener deprives Zinedine Zidane of his two best midfielders. There is still a ton of talent, but the goal scoring power isn’t the same.

CA Osasuna PK -123 vs. SD Eibar, O/U 2 and 2.5

All of the newly promoted clubs picked up results in their first match last week, and Osasuna will be out to earn another win after a 1-0 victory over Leganes. The club countered brilliantly in the win, but Eibar are a tougher opponent that is stronger on the attack.

RC Celta de Vigo PK and +0.5 vs. CF Valencia, O/U 2.5

A disappointing draw for Valencia in their first match was made even worse since they won’t have Francis Coquelin available due to a red card. The Bats do have some excellent options though, and that should be enough to get a result against Celta Vigo.

August 25

CD Leganes +0.5 vs. Atletico Madrid, O/U 2

Joao Felix looked incredible in his Atletico debut, and he should be healthy for this match after coming off the pitch with a cramp against Getafe. Felix didn’t score, but he created a lot in his first La Liga match, showing that his future as Antonine Griezmann’s successor is bright. Look for some more magic from the 19-year old against Leganes.

FC Barcelona -1.5 and -2 vs. Real Betis Balompie, O/U 3.5

A return to Camp Nou should be just the salve Barca need after a stunning defeat in their opener. Barcelona hit the woodwork twice against Bilbao, but it’s highly unlikely they’ll be shut out again since there is so much offensive firepower available. Anything other than a win might lead to Barca opening up their pocketbook to bring Neymar back.

Deportivo Alaves Sad PK -131 vs. RCD Espanyol Barcelona, O/U 2

Goals will be at a premium in this match. Espanyol and Alaves both focus on defending well and countering when the opportunity is available, so there won’t be many quality chances. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this end in a scoreless draw.

RCD Mallorca PK +108 vs. Real Sociedad, O/U 2 and 2.5

The oddsmakers like what they saw from Real Sociedad over the tail end of last season and in their opener, but it’s not easy to win in Mallorca. Eibar found that out last week after Mallorca secured a 2-1 win in Palma, and there is great value on the hosts again.
