Most of the top teams in Europe are set to embark on their preseason tournaments. Many are coming to the International Cup of Champions in the United States or over in Asia. Though that isn't necessarily the best indication of what the club is going to bring to the table this year, it's the first sign we're going to have of what the Champions League might look like.

There's no doubt that Barcelona and Real Madrid are still the best teams in the world. Claudio Bravo is now gone from the Nou Camp, but the men who are coming for Ernesto Valverde are ridiculous. Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer are both coming from Valencia for a total of 65 million Euros. Is a splashy player on the way? If so, that will only make Barca more dangerous.

It's almost a little surprising that Real Madrid, the two-time winner of this event, isn't the favorite. Los Blancos are +450 and are the second choice to Barcelona. James Rodriguez is on the move, but the rest of this Real Madrid side is back. The big question is whether Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be back in the fold or not. We have a hunch that CR7 will be fine once the campaign really gets started, but his desire to get out of Spain could end up being damning to Real by the time this season is said and done with. If Ronaldo doesn't get out by August 31, perhaps he could be on the move in January, and that’s when Real Madrid would really need him the most.

England hasn't had a UCL winner since Chelsea captured the title in 2012, but the Blues are loading up once again for another run after a great year in the Premier League. Chelsea didn't play in European soccer last year, so this will be a nice return. But England's squads haven't historically fared all that well at this level, and this will be a big challenge for the Blues. There's a reason why they're set at +1100 to capture the Champions League title.

German champion, Bayern Munich +500 and Italian champion and UCL runner-up from last year, Juventus +900 are sandwiched between the two La Liga sides and Chelsea. Manchester City +1100, Atletico Madrid +1200 and Manchester United +1400 are next in line, while the first French team on the list, PSG is set at 16 to 1.
