Real Madrid vs Paris Saint-Germain FREE Picks

We all knew that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were the two best teams in Group A, and first place will likely be determined when they meet in Madrid on Tuesday. PSG have a perfect record in the Group Stage, and they are the only team in this year’s Champions League that has yet to allow a goal. They are five points ahead of Real Madrid, and the Spanish juggernauts will need to grab all three points in Spain this week to have any chance of winning the group.

Recent Form

PSG have been phenomenal once again this season. They are so dominant in France that you can’t bet on PSG to win Ligue 1 anymore, and they are already eight points clear in their bid to win the league. Their goal differential is 15 goals higher than any other team in France, but success for this club at this point is measured by the Champions League. PSG have been famously unfortunate in this competition, yet they have been fantastic in this year’s Champions League, even without Neymar.

Soccer Sports Betting

Angel Di Maria led PSG past Real Madrid in their first meeting, netting a brace inside of 30 minutes in a 3-0 rout back in September. New signing Mauro Icardi has shown his value with Neymar out since then by netting four goals in the club’s last three games, helping PSG secure two wins over Club Brugge and a victory over Galatasaray.

Real Madrid got off to a slow start this season. Zinedine Zidane needed some time to get the magic back at the Bernabeu, but this club has things moving in the right direction once more. They are tied with Barcelona atop the La Liga table, and they are close to guaranteeing a spot in the Champions League knockout rounds.

There were some problems with the back line at the start of the year. After losing to PSG 3-0, they allowed Club Brugge to go up 2-0 in the first half in their second Champions League game before rallying to salvage a 2-2 draw. Real Madrid have solved those issues in recent weeks though, holding five straight opponents scoreless, including Galatasaray twice.

Key Absences

Center back Thilo Kehrer has yet to suit up for PSG this season. He suffered a foot injury in preseason and has been out since August as a result. On a more concerning note, Neymar and Thomas Meunier are questionable to play with hamstring injuries that have been bothering them for the past month.

Winger Marco Asensio has yet to play this season after tearing his ACL in July, and he won’t return until spring. Winger Lucas Vazquez was injured over the international break and won’t be back until next year for Real Madrid, while center back Nacho and midfielder James Rodriguez are sidelined for one more month with MCL injuries.

Real Madrid Player to Watch

Karim Benzema has been the unsung hero of Real Madrid for years, and he has been the best player on the team through three months this season. Benzema has nine goals and three assists through 11 domestic matches, and Zidane has leaned on him heavily. No other player on Real Madrid has more than two goals in domestic play this campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain Player to Watch

Kylian Mbappe is being linked to multiple clubs, but for now the blazing fast striker is still at PSG. Mbappe is one of the most dangerous forwards in soccer, and he has netted 38 goals in 36 games for the club since joining on a full-time basis. He is still coming into his own at the age of 20, and Mbappe is very difficult to stop.

Champions League Free Picks

Expect a low scoring game in this one as both back lines have been strong. The under is a great play.
