It’s a name brand marquee affair, at least at the start of the 2019 Wimbledon Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s singles tournaments. Serena Williams is clearly past her prime and not in good current form. Yet that does not matter to gamblers who have bet her up to favorite status over Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber, Ashley Berry, and Naomi Osaka. Meanwhile on the Gentlemen’s side defending champion Novak Djokovic is the overwhelming favorite with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal following. The big question gamblers have is whether to go chalk or shop for bargains. While the Ladies’ side has more legitimate contenders the Gentlemen’s ledger seems to lack depth.
