Georgia -4 vs Florida in Jacksonville, Florida

The Gators strung together a ton of wins in this rivalry in the 1990s and 2000s, but the Bulldogs have turned the tide. Kirby Smart has turned Georgia into the juggernaut that division opponents feared for decades, and Georgia is heavily favored per the SEC East betting odds to win the division again this year.

These teams are seen as the two best in the SEC East by a substantial margin, and the winner is likely to go to Atlanta to play in the SEC Championship Game.

Georgia let out a lot of frustration in the last two meetings between these schools. The Bulldogs hammered the Gators 42-7 in 2017, and they followed that up be beating them 36-17 last season. Quite frankly, they should be favored by more than this, and this is one of my favorite plays per early college football betting lines.

Washington -5 vs Utah

It’s going to be hard for either team to move the ball in this game. Washington and Utah met for the right to go to the Rose Bowl last year, and the Huskies gritted out a 10-3 win. In that game, the two teams combined for less than 500 total yards of offense, and we saw four turnovers. Both these schools like to run the ball, but Utah averaged just 2 YPC last year while Washington averaged 3 YPC.

If Utah are going to upend Washington again anytime soon, this is the year. The Utes are 1-12 all-time against the Huskies, but they bring back a lot of talent from 2018 and many are calling them a dark horse to win the Pac 12.

Florida State -1 vs Miami (FL)

No school has benefited more from Florida State’s recent collapse than Miami. At the start of this decade, the Hurricanes developed a dangerous pattern. They would reel off a lot of wins before this rivalry game, but then they would fall apart after losing to the Seminoles. It’s a pattern we saw far too often during FSU’s seven-game winning streak in this series, and the Miami late-season swoon used to be something you could mark on the calendar.

Miami has won the last two meetings, but both have been close. The two schools went blow for blow before Miami came out on top in 2017, and FSU nearly pulled out a victory in a game it had no business winning last year. The Seminoles had just 200 total yards of offense, but there were some huge individual plays that nearly led to a win in south Florida.

UCF -14 vs Houston

These are two of the most high-profile programs in the AAC, and there will be a lot of attention paid to this game. Both schools look to outscore their opponents with defense being somewhat optional, so there’s a decent chance we see this game crack the century mark in terms of total points.

UCF and Houston haven’t met since 2016, but the Knights have not forgotten the beatdown they received the last time they faced off in Orlando. Tom Herman led Houston to a 59-10 win that day, and that will be a topic of motivation for Josh Heupel.
