Week 8 College Football Betting Odds - Bet On NCAA Games

Week 8 College Football Betting OddsCollege Football Betting: There aren’t as many marquee matchups in Week 8 of the college football season as there are in other weeks, but there is still plenty of action when it comes to betting on college football. Penn State and Michigan meet in a game that will go a long way to deciding the Big Ten East, Washington and Oregon square off in a battle between border states that has a lot of animosity, and Boise State and BYU look to strengthen their cases for a potential Group of Five bid in a New Year’s Day Bowl.

Stanford -7.5 vs UCLA

This is one of the best Thursday night games of the season, and there is a lot of intrigue surrounding both these teams.

Stanford could be in a very tough spot at this point. The Cardinal play four teams projected to be ranked in the top 30 in terms of S&P+ in their first six games, and they could have a losing record coming into this game. This program has been incredibly consistent under David Shaw, but they might be due to take a tumble.

UCLA might be an up-and-coming contender at this point. There’s a lot of optimism surrounding Chip Kelly in his second season in LA, and the Bruins have a very manageable schedule outside of Oklahoma. A surprising win over Stanford could set the stage for a Pac 12 South title.

Penn State +4.5 vs Michigan

Although Jim Harbaugh’s tenure in Ann Arbor has certainly been successful, he has yet to win a Big Ten division title. Michigan has continually lost out to Ohio State, Michigan State, and Penn State, and that has been a sore with Wolverines fans.

This is the time for Harbaugh and Michigan to assert themselves. With Ohio State and Penn State both rebuilding, the Wolverines have a great chance to finally break through and win the Big Ten East. Penn State is their first game against the three other heavyweights in the division, and it’s Michigan’s toughest road game as the Wolverines host Iowa, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

Michigan has won four of the last five games in this series, and the Wolverines are favored in Happy Valley per the college football betting odds. The last three games have been total blowouts with the margin of victory being 39, 29, and 35 points.

Washington -6.5 vs Oregon

This is an underrated rivalry, but the bitterness runs deep between the Ducks and the Huskies. Oregon won 12 straight games in this series, so when Washington got the chance to turn the tables in recent years, they made the most of it. The Huskies outscored the Ducks 108-24 in 2016 and 2017, putting more then a decade’s worth of frustration behind them.

Oregon got the better of Washington in a thriller last year, and this game could very well decide the Pac 12 North title. The Ducks and the Huskies are seen by most as the favorites in the division.

BYU +8 vs Boise State

These schools have only played each other nine times, and they didn’t square off for the first time until 2003. There isn’t much of a rivalry just yet, but these are two of the biggest brands in mid-major college football and a rivalry is starting to develop as this will be the eighth straight season these schools have faced off.

We’ll know just how good BYU is in the first month of the season. The Cougars play Utah, Tennessee, USC, and Washington in the first four weeks of the season, and all four teams are projected in the top 30 of Bill Connelly’s S&P+. BYU will have the fortune of playing in Provo for three of those four games, so a couple upsets is certainly on the table.

That would be good for Boise State, as the Broncos look to reclaim the mantle that UCF has taken from them as the best Group of Five school. Boise State has no one of note on the schedule between its season opener against Florida State and this game, so the Broncos need a win here to get back to a premier bowl.
