Brazil is one of the top contenders to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Brazil will be making their 21st appearance at the World Cup and they have won the title a record five times.  Brazil was a major disappointment as the host team four years ago in the World Cup, but they are capable of making amends in Russia, as they feature one of the top players in the world in Neymar. Only two other teams have shorter odds to win the 2018 World Cup than Brazil, as Germany is listed at +500, while France is +550.

Brazil 2018 World Cup Odds: +650

Brazil is definitely a serious contender to win the 2018 World Cup title at odds of +650. Brazil will be looking to make amends for what happened four years ago and they have the team to challenge Germany for the title. It would not be a surprise to see these odds drop before the competition gets underway in Russia.

Players to Watch

Brazil is led by one of the top players in the world in Neymar. He has thrived under new coach Adenor Leonardo Bach, known as Tite, who took over in June of 2016.

Brazil has Alisson Becker in goal and a good squad in front of him. Marcelo is at left-back, while Dani Alves is at right-back. Miranda and Marquinhos have played well in the center and it could be that Thiago Silva comes in off the bench. Gil and David Luiz are also in the mix for playing time.

The midfield is led by Paulinho, Casemiro and Fernandinho along with Giuliano and Diego. The forwards are excellent led by Neymar to go along with Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus. Roberto Firmino and Douglas Costa could also get playing time.

The Coach

Tite took over from Dunga in June of 2016 and the results so far have been excellent. Tite is a former defensive midfielder who played 11 years. His coaching success came at Corinthians where he led the team to the Copa Libertadores title, the FIFA Cup World Cup title and two Brazilian Championships.

Brazil World Cup History

Brazil has been in every World Cup, as this will be their 21st appearance. They have won five titles in their history. They won the tit le in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. They have finished second twice, in 1950 and 1998. Brazil has played 104 matches in World Cup history and they have scored 221 goals, averaging 2.1 goals per contest.

Brazil 2018 World Cup Predictions

Brazil might actually be undervalued at odds of +650, as you can make a case they should at least be co-favorites along with Germany. They have one of the best players in the world in Neymar, and a coach in Tite who knows how to get his team to play defense. Brazil looks poised to make up for what happened four years ago and win the 2018 World Cup.
