Game of Thrones Betting Props: No show in modern television has been the subject of more speculation or wild fan theories than Game of Thrones. The wildly popular HBO series has a rabid fanbase that lives, sleeps, and breathes the show, and tens of millions are expected to tune in for the final six episodes starting on April 14. To make sure the show was done proper justice, there were no episodes in 2018, and the showrunners spent nearly two years making Season Eight. Fans everywhere have been eagerly anticipated the finale, and they are hopeful the show will live up to huge expectations.
A Song of Ice and Fire
Game of Thrones is based off the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R. Martin. The first season of the series matched up pretty closely with the first book in the series, A Game of Thrones, while the second season was primarily based off of the second book, A Clash of Kings. The third and fourth seasons largely stuck to the book, though some events happened in a different order, but the fifth season saw the television series begin to diverge from the books.
That caused some consternation between people that discovered Martin’s tale through the books and late adopters that discovered it through the television shows. The first book was written in 1996, a full 15 years before the first season of the HBO series aired. However, Martin has been notoriously slow about writing the books, so the television show has now caught up and surpassed where we are in the television show.
The fifth season was where we first saw some elements from Martin’s yet unreleased sixth book in the series, The Winds of Winter. The sixth season only had a few story arcs that had previously been put into print, and by the time the seventh season started, we were completely off the script. There are few hints as to what’s to come in the eighth season if you have read chapters from The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, leaving us all blind.
The one television show that has become DVR-proof in this on-demand era is Game of Thrones. Given the popularity of the show, and fans’ desire to talk about all things related to the show, if you don’t watch an episode live, you’re liable to have it spoiled for you.
It’s pretty amazing to track just how much the Game of Thrones audience has grown over the last seven seasons. The first season had a pretty decent start for an HBO show with about 2.5 million people turning in on average, but that number has grown exponentially in each subsequent season.
By the end of the fourth season, the show was averaging nearly seven million viewers an episode, and those numbers have kicked into overdrive with the story nearing its end. The seventh season averaged an incredible 10.3 million people watching each episode live, making it far and away the most successful HBO show ever.

A show as beloved as Game of Thrones is bound to have betting available, and there will be multiple betting options on the series closer to the Season Eight debut. The one thing that you can bet now is who will sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the series. Bran Stark is the surprising favorite, but fan favorites Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are right behind him in terms of the odds. If there’s one thing we know for certain though, it’s that nothing is certain.
