Tenfold Preakneess Stakes OddsPreakness Stakes Odds - The Preakness Stakes offers something that few other big-time horse races can even hope to deliver. That is the element of the unknown. In fact, the Preakness is an odd hybrid of the Kentucky Derby winner, (in this case Jusstify), a few other Kentucky Derby contenders, and another group of fresh horses that skipped the Derby only to be hiding in the bushes and ready to ambush the winner, ruining the Triple Crown dreams of the horse’s owners, trainers, jockey and backers. One of the horses that should be fresh and primed for an upset is Tenfold.

The Preakness Stakes will go to post on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 6:20 p.m. ET at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. Catch the Preakness States live on NBC.

Tenfold is a three-year-old Dark Bay Brown colt that is by Curlin and Temptress. Tenfold is trained by Steven Asmussen, who is one of the most respected men in their his field of training anywhere in the world.

Asmussen has trained two horses to wins in the Breeders’ Cup Classic and has posted two wins in the Preakness Stakes along with one win in the Belmont Stakes. Asmussen has compiled over 8000 wins at the still young age of 52. He was inducted into the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame in 2016.

Tenfold last ran on April 14, 2018 in the Grade One Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park where he finished a disappointing fifth place. Magnum Moon took the wire with Quip finishing second and Solomini finishing third. The race had a final time of 1:49.86. Tenfold tired himself out with a four-wide bid at the quarter pole and had nothing left at the finish.

On March 18, 2018 Tenfold won an Allowance Optional Claim at Oaklawn Park in a race that was one and one sixteenth miles in length. Tenfold took the wire by a neck with Navistar second and Plainsman third with a final race time of 1:44.16.

Why Tenfold King Will Win the Preakness Stakes

Plenty of Rest. Tenfold has just three career starts in his career and never ran as a two-year-old. It is hard to calculate just how valuable such a lack of stress can be. Tenfold will not be worn down while much of the rest of the field has already run in multiple races. With Asmussen as trainer he will get top shelf guidance and preparation from a man that knows how to win at Pimlico.

Why Tenfold King Won't Win the Preakness Stakes

There is nothing in the record of Tenfold that points to certain success. The element of the unknown can work both ways.

The Final Verdict

Tenfold has a possibility to finish in the money but it’s a reach.
