    Europa League Round of 32 Preview

    By Jonathan Willis Spanish clubs have dominated the Europa League over the last 13 years. Eight of the last 13 Europa League champions have come from Spain, with Atletico Madrid winning three titles and Sevilla winning five titles. There are four Spanish teams involved in this year’s knockout round of the Europa League, so there is a very good chance they claim the title once again. However, big clubs like Inter Milan, Napoli, Arsenal, and Chelsea will look to win this title for themselves.   More

  • Since dropping down into the Europa League from the Champions League, Atletico Madrid has been the oddsmakers’ favorite to win it all. Atletico have played the part during their run through the knockout stages, crushing Copenhagen and Lokomotiv Moscow in the first two rounds before smothering Sporting CP and Arsenal with their defense. They have allowed just four goals in their eight Europa League matches.   More

The Europa League does not have the same fanfare that the Champions League has, but winning the competition could save a manager’s job. Additionally, winning the Europa League will give one of these last eight teams a spot in next year’s Champions Leagues. This Thursday will see the first leg of all four ties.  More
